The Symposium was started in the late 70's at Wilton High School by Band Director, John Rhodes. The idea was to get like minded musicians together to hear local high school jazz ensembles. The event was to be non-competitive and educational, with positive criticism given to each performing group by all participating band directors. The event itself begins at 4:00pm with The Wilton High School Jazz Band II. Other high school bands slated to play include Danbury, Staples, Brian McMahon and Newtown Berkshire Big Band will close. out the evening with a high level performance.

So come early and enjoy some of the best High School bands in the area And the Berkshire Big Band This event is free to the public.

It's been a long winter of storms, intolerabley cold weather, and political change.
I'm happy to say that meanwhile, my guitar is out of the shop and in the works with new repertoir and new gigs. The Berkshire Big Band has a big season coming up and there is talk of flute choir and a flute big band out there and more! So...let the games begin! Don't forget to keep checking back for to activity. It's going to be a great year!
